Las Vegas Host City Announcement
The latest chapter in Las Vegas' evolution from the entertainment capital of the world into a global destination for premium live sport.
The Premier Jumping League (PJL), a new global team-based showjumping competition bringing together the world’s leading riders and horses, today announced that the League’s inaugural competition will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, presented by Wynn Las Vegas.
For the first time, the PJL will bring elite showjumping to Las Vegas Boulevard for a three-day outdoor sporting spectacle taking place from 15–17 April 2027. The event will see 80 of the world's leading riders compete head-to-head across 16 PJL teams, with $100 million in prize money available across the League's inaugural season.
The competition will be hosted within a premium, purpose-built venue at the Las Vegas Event Plaza, the landmark expansion site adjacent to Wynn Las Vegas. With horse and rider welfare central to all decision-making at the PJL, particular consideration has been given to the quality of stabling, competition footing and wider equestrian operational requirements.
In developing its competition calendar, the PJL made a strategic decision to follow the natural movement of the international showjumping circuit, ensuring that neither horses nor riders would be overtaxed by League commitments. Whilst the League was keen to align itself with traditional equestrian venues, such as Hamburg Derby Park, that reinforce its commitment to protecting the integrity and core values of the sport, it was equally important to identify progressive destinations that would enable the PJL to engage audiences in untapped territories, ultimately benefiting the wider jumping ecosystem. Las Vegas is one of those destinations.
Leading Team USA rider Lillie Keenan said:
“As riders, we know just how exciting our sport can be, but there is still so much opportunity to introduce jumping to people who have never experienced it before.
“Las Vegas is a city that knows how to put on a show and is fast becoming a global destination for world-class live sport. Whilst it may be a new destination for jumping, that's something we should embrace. The PJL has the ambition to introduce the sport to new, more diverse audiences, and that can only be a positive for everyone involved.
“It's going to be an incredibly exciting way to kick off the inaugural season.”
In celebration of the Las Vegas announcement, the PJL will activate at the Wynn’s Concours event from 30 October to 1 November 2026. A celebration of automotive heritage, craftsmanship and innovation, the Concours event brings together car enthusiasts from around the world.
Las Vegas has long been recognised as the entertainment capital of the world, but in recent years, the city has been steadily establishing itself as one of the world's most exciting destinations for international sport – with the presence of Formula One, the Las Vegas Raiders, Super Bowl LVIII, WWE, and now, the PJL.
The PJL’s General Counsel, Zahir Rahman, formerly of the Las Vegas Raiders, brings extensive knowledge of Nevada’s sporting landscape, having been instrumental in helping secure, support and deliver Super Bowl LVIII.
The PJL’s CEO, Neil Moffitt, brings over 30 years of experience in global entertainment and hospitality to the League. Moffitt has built some of the world’s most recognisable entertainment brands such as Hakkasan Group, where he served as Group CEO, Godskitchen and Global Gathering, which grew into Europe's largest electronic music festival. In parallel, Neil founded and sold Angel Management Group, a Las Vegas-based festival and entertainment business, which became one of the largest non-gaming hospitality companies.
The PJL’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Nick McCabe, formerly ran Hakkasan Group and Pacha Group, overseeing more than 60 premium venues across four continents.
Veteran show manager Dale Harvey of West Palms Events, a former elite rider who represented Canada at the international level, will oversee the delivery of the three-day Las Vegas competition.
Together, the leadership team brings a unique combination of local expertise and global entertainment and equestrian sport experience, positioning the PJL to deliver a new chapter in the city’s evolution as an international sporting destination.
